The Starbucks Dilemma with Arab Identities
Let me start this again and for the millionth time and without boring facts, but with real stuff happening rater than the usual “trusted” links, WOM facts and so…
Starbucks’ CEO is a zionist? right? Let’s just agree on this point at least.
Fine, so does this mean that every penny people pay for coffee goes to Isreal?
how does Starbucks run then, employees, salaries… etc?
Howard Schultz can use his money for whatever the hell he wants, even if he’s going to use his dollars as toilet paper. We can’t control that.
Live examples from Jordan? Rawan cake refuses to deal with VISA (because it is haram according to management’s decision) and does not cater to Christians, if you ask for a customized Cross-shaped cake they’ll will take the money and give you a regular cake.
Rakwet Arab/Jafra Cafe is owned by Palestinian Communist Comity and all proceeds go to supporting their party.
Let me think this way now, let’s say “Hamada” is a cafe, that makes a great tasting hot chocolate with marshmallows and is owned by a strict Muslim. A very strict one that sent his children to separate schools and forced his 3 daughters to wear the hijab once they turned 6 years old. Does this mean that if I go to his cafe, and buy the coffee that I donate money to Hizbollah? or Jihad? or Al-Qaeda? (or whatever he belongs to)
What if it actually does? will that make a difference? I’m getting my coffee in the end and neither you or I or anyone has the right to control anyone’s financial decisions…
And in this case, like most of you reading this right now… You’re probably reading this while you’re on your computer/laptop powered by an Intel processor, so I suggest you throw your laptop right out of the window right now.
This is not the right way to make a political statement.
