The Dark Knight won’t rise in the Middle East
The brand-new Batman movie “The Dark Knight Rises” releasing around the world on July 20th, 2012 will not be released in time. According to @WBLebanon and imdb, the Lebanese release date is August 16th, 2012 almost a month behind the international release because of Ramadan.

Apparently Ramadan’s month sales affects cinema viewership/sales in the region while technically speaking I don’t think the Lebanese, Jordanian or Iraqi market is going to any influenced by this (like the GCC would), but it is really disappointing.
Warner Bros. Pictures’ in Lebanon, Syria and Jordan is operated by the company Joseph Chacra & Sons, the WB licensee for Lebanon & SHOOTING STARS, the Licensee for Syria, Jordan, Iraq.
Till now, I’m still wondering why Warner Bros. Lebanon & Shooting Stars LLC are insisting to release major WB releases months after, take Harold & Kumar CHRISTMAS movie getting released NOW (3 months later?) and The Dark Knight Rises being delayed a month after its official worldwide release. This is unaccepted and demeaning to all fans in the region! THIS IS PURE NONSENSE, J. Edgar was out on Blu-Ray worldwide while it played here last week, now this and they late release of Batman’s new title. check imdb link attached. You guys have been warned, don’t underestimate the power of social media and piracy, by the time you play Batman… it’ll be out to download in a watchable quality, lose money and close if you don’t explain or follow international dates.
We need this to be fixed and we demand answers NOW!
For the Absolut Vodka ads series fans, here’s one done by myself, Absolut Petra.
At first it was a great date then you took my hand, wrote your number down. I was still excited, but as I started drinking and dancing, I realized that you had too much and you tried to get me into bed. At that point, I refused and you went running off screaming like animals and then comatose took place. I woke up next morning alone, not having remembered any of it and the noise of a hangover took place. I’m not sure we had sex, I just pretended that I had. I might have told people we did it and then the words were as damaging as a sawed off shotgun. Did I say I love you? and I never actually did.
As the jigsaws fall into place and we walk past each other wishing it went better but knowing that as a couple, we just didn’t fit.

Eid without Cinema – Celebrations without Cinema
International production houses and distributors are unable to attain clearance regarding imported films, due to New Custom Department Regulations. With the failure to reach a solution that is consistent with Custom Regulations, and the Income Tax and Sales Tax, Cinema owners have unanimously decided to stop screening films on Tuesday 25/10/2011. Moreover, we will be forced to stop screening films completely if the problem still exist until Eid Al Adha.

An Arabic quote from Ahlam Mustaghanimi’s book “Fawda Al-Hawas” which translates to: I belong to a generation that suffers from an age crisis and spend their lives before living it.
Wise one I’d say…
I just started watching this new TV series called Threesome and its actually pretty good. Threesome is a British television sitcom starring Stephen Wight, Amy Huberman and Emun Elliott. The series is focused around three friends, Alice, Mitch and Richie who return home from a night out celebrating Alice’s birthday and end up having a Threesome, which results in Richie getting Alice pregnant. Instead of splitting up, the three friends decide to raise the baby as a trio. The series began airing on 17 October 2011 on Comedy Central (UK) and can be found on torrents for those living outside the UK.
I really liked the first 2 episodes and even left a comment on the official Facebook page of the show, and they replied to me next morning…. (yay, dancing in the office)
RAZR is back. Faster, Thinner, Smarter, Stronger. A re-imagining of an icon for the smartphone era featuring a powerful dual-core 1.2GHz processor, an impossibly thin 7.1mm main shaft, remote access to your computer via MotoCast™, and made KEVLAR® strong.
Yes, Motorola unveiled its latest phone, the world’s thinnest smartphone at an event in New York City. The new phone sports a dual-core processor, 4G LTE, a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Advanced display and a profile that truly defines “thin.”
Motorola managed to make a clamshell phone that was sleek, sexy and thin. The company has taken the same approach to the Droid Razr. Measuring in at just 7.1mm thick, the Droid Razr is svelte. Motorola says it’s the thinnest 4G LTE device on the market and it may just be the slimmest smartphone in general.
The Screen Is Awesome The Super AMOLED Advanced qHD screen is beautiful, easily the best looking Droid display yet. Motorola touted that the Droid Razr will be the first phone to support streaming Netflix in HD. That’s great for movie fans.
Battery Life Uncertainties We couldn’t get a clear answer from Motorola regarding battery life on the Droid Razr. Sure, the standby and talk time looked impressive — but whether those tests were done on 3G, 2G or 4G LTE wasn’t clear.
This is Motorola’s big Android phone for the holiday season and a valiant competitor against both the Samsung Galaxy S II and the iPhone 4S. With the original Razr, Motorola created something magical and iconic. While I don’t think the Droid Razr will achieve that long-lasting status for smartphones, it does help cement Motorola’s position as one of the elite Android device makers.
Priced at $300 in USA and £500 in the UK, the phone isn’t cheap. Still, the phone looks like it packs a powerful punch for Android fans and beats the cheap iPhone 4S update by Apple.
